Okay, watching this clip reminds me why the animated Transformers movie is so much better than Michael Bay’s live action work. I remember absolutely loving this entire sequence when I saw the movie in the theater the summer of 1986 (yes, I saw the original film in the theater . . . I told you I’m a geek) and even today this animation looks fantastic.
Rather than go see Revenge of the Fallen on Wednesday I think I’m gonna watch the classic film that night.
I own no less than 4 copies of this on DVD (original Rhino release, the Sony 2-disc set, a copy from my Chinese series set, and the British “Reconstructed” disc). I hope to own the British 2-disc set before too long , bringing my total to 5. I’m such a mark.
