Soundblaster, Soundwave, and the Data Discs
Someone at the post office loves me. Now I just have to decide what to open first. Probably Soundwave, so I can compare him to the War for Cybertron Soundwave (review here) from a few years ago. And those Data Discs look suitably silly and fun to me. Not as nice as the Perfect Effect unofficial Rumble and Frenzy toys (review here), but quite nice for what they are.
I just got the Data Discs last night. They’re certainly not nearly as good as the PE Warriors, but I agree, they’re decent for what they tried to be.
I would have preferred better posability rather than the spring-transform action, but I’m still glad to have a new Ravage and Ratbat.
Need to find a Soundwave still.
@ryanlb – My two complaints with Soundwave so far are:
1. He doesn’t include the hand weapon shown in the instructions and on the box.
2. The data discs are way too tight of a fit.
Oh man, want. I keep deluding myself that I’ll find these on the shelf (along with the rest of the new FOC stuff) before 2013, but I may just break down and order them. Can’t wait to see the reviews!
Nice! I have a thing about not reading reviews until I have the item in hand and while I believe “Santa” (aka, my wife) has both of them for me, I don’t know for sure, so I’ll wait. I do love the data discs though. I think its utterly unfair to compare them to a 40 dollar 3rd party item however.
@Dave Juicebox – I only got mine because I ordered them online. I had considered waiting to find them in stores, but after the pain of finding the Combaticons I decided to make my life easier.
@PaxCybertron – Yeah, comparing the data discs to the PE Warriors is a bit unfair. And less than a week until Christmas!
