Top Ten Reviews of 2012

It’s the final day of 2012 and it’s time to start looking back at the year. This morning I decided to review all of the traffic for 2012 and worked out this list of the ten most visited (new) reviews during 2012. I added the “new” qualifier there because a couple of older reviews posted in 2009, 2010, and 2011 actually had more visitors than some of the reviews posted here.

Anyway, here are the top ten reviews of the year, listed in order from the one spot down to the ten spot.

Wow. Five of the top ten reviews in 2012 were all Batman reviews, something I really wasn’t expecting to see when I sat down to look through the data. And only a single third party Transformers toy made the list, which tells me that either there’s a lot of coverage of these toys at other sites or that the demand for unofficial Transformers toys isn’t as strong as I expected.

Your Thoughts

What do you think of the top ten reviews of the year? Are these all reviews that you read and enjoyed, or do you feel that one of my other (many) toy reviews posted in 2012 should have been on the list?

  1. It’s also possible that there’s just that much more competition for third party Transformers reviews, between feedback threads on fansites, other blogs, and YouTube.

Stuff like Batman figures may not be as well reviewed online in a quality way.

  2. @General Tekno – I just sorta assumed that Batman reviews would be common online. But now that you mention it I didn’t see a lot of Power Attack Batman reviews earlier this year when the line first launched. Weird.

  3. Mego Batman was the first toy line I saw put in a row. The neighborhood kids realized they had a set between them and decided to line them up on the sidewalk to see how it looked. I was 2 and it was 1974. I still much prefer blue and grey but I saw the 31 inch dark knight figure at walmart today. After searching for too long (use giant in the tags just like in the box people!) I didn’t get a good look at it but that’s what happens when you can see it fine from twenty feet away. It’s cheap! I have to go back!
