The classic Night of the Living Dead movie* remains one of the cornerstones of zombie lore in the twenty-first century, and because of some weirdness with copyright law (see Wikipedia for details) the film is in the public domain and is a favorite for those seeking a zombie flick to use for their own purposes.

That leads us to the Night of the Living Dead Cemetery Zombie Bust* that’s up for pre-order at Entertainment Earth. I’ve taken no steps to investigate the trademark status of “Night of the Living Dead,” but considering the copyright issue I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that something wonky is going on in that department as well.

Cemeteries have never exactly been heavenly playgrounds for fun, bliss, and youthful exuberance, but the 1968 George Romero classic Night of the Living Dead cemented the cemetery as a dreadful, terrifying hell where ghouls fed on the flesh of innocents. Pretty awesome, right? If you loved the Romero film and the sequels that followed you’re going to fall in love with this Night of the Living Dead Cemetery Zombie Bust! Sculpted by Christian Hanson with modification by Joy and Tom Studios, these 1:1 scale busts were sculpted in the U.S., and feature the likeness of Bill Hinzman, who would later become a fixture in American horror appearing in movies like the original The Crazies and FleshEater. A limited edition of 100 pieces, the Night of the Living Dead Cemetery Zombie Bust was authorized and approved by Bill Hinzman and Hinzman Productions. Ages 14 and up.
