Affiliate Link – Spider-Man Titan Hero 12-Inch Action Figure

Someone at Hasbro must have decided that perceived value is very important these days. Not only are they releasing new 12-inch scale Star Wars action figures (see my Clone Trooper review), but they are also offering this Spider-Man Titan Hero 12-Inch Action Figure* which looks designed to be great for kids. Part of me suspects that this line won’t last long, but even more of me hopes that it takes off and Hasbro releases a lot more of these limited articulation — but big! — action figures.

  1. Oh jeez, I saw the Titan Iron man figure when I was buying the clone trooper. Its was nice to see crisper detail and paint on this style of toy and I’ll pick up iron man now that I’ve had a good look at the first figure. But it also got me Wondering if the Kenner style worked for me outside of star wars characters. Honestly, spider man was top of the list of characters that would not benefit from the aesthetic. Another thing I noticed is where this is good for large lines the single hero lines like iron man and spider man tend to have multiple versions. There where many 12″ iron man figures in the $20-$30 range that blew Titan away. It did make me take a step back and decide just to stick with the Kenner star wars style for the first purchase.

  2. Spidey looks pretty cool in this format. I’m definitely interested in a Vader. I saw Anakin at Target the other day and the paint is really terrible–glossy AND pale. It looks like a knock-off from the 70s!

  3. @Openchallenge – You have probably seen my Iron Man review by now, but I’ll just say that Iron Man was fun enough that for $10 I would happily buy some other armors. I would even buy a fun repaint of this same mold.

  4. @Jay – After opening the Clone Trooper and Iron Man I’m now keeping an eye open for this Spider-Man. At $10/each these toys are a pretty sweet deal and go nicely with the Gentle Giant Kenner Jumbos.
