Boba Fett First Shot Kenner PGM 2013 Gift
Awesome! Gentle Giant (website, Twitter) has announced that one of the special items for club members this year is a special Boba Fett action figure. The Boba Fett First Shot Kenner action figure is definitely my choice when it’s time to place my membership order on Monday.
One of the “Holy Grails” of the toy collecting world is the incredibly rare and hard-to-find Rocket Firing Boba Fett figure prototype. The only evidence of “what could have been,” the original Boba Fett figure was never released with its rocket firing feature due to safety concerns. No finished versions of the functional figure are known to exist, and only a few of the original one-color injection-molded figures prototypes have ever been seen outside of the Kenner factory. These pieces are highly sought-after by collectors and have fetched incredible prices on the secondary markets.

That is pretty awesome! A creative way to hit all of that nostalgia and promote the line. Love the fact that it’s in the prototype color.
I’ll definitely be renewing my membership for 2013 so I can get this one. I just got in my 2012 member figure and from looking at the back, there are a lot of cool figures in store from Gentle Giant.
@Paul – I opened the mass-release version of this figure yesterday. Love it!
@Jon – My Gentle Giant auto-renew is under one of the cards that got trashed by the Transformers club mess last year. I’m trying to reach Gentle Giant in time to switch the card; I would hate to miss this toy because of that Transformers fraud problem.
That TFCC mess continues to give me headaches a year later.
