New Glyos System Action Figure in Tooling!

The latest Glyos Transmission Web Log post shares some pretty exciting information with us all: a completely new Glyos System action figure is currently in the tooling process and might be released in early April.

If you’re unfamiliar with the tooling process I can summarize everything for you: An action figure is designed, sculpted, shipped off for tooling, and then the design/figure is cut into steel. Every piece is a separate cavity in the steel mold — sometimes multiple cavities which are then sonic welded or otherwise merged — and the tooling process is when the figure goes from a single custom job to an injection mold that’s just waiting for plastic.

If you ever get to see an injection machine at work be sure to watch closely. It’s pretty fun. And compression machines are maybe even more fun to watch as they turn plastic pellets into fully-formed plastic parts.
