Bowen Designs’ Hobgoblin Statue Shown at Statue Marvels

Bowen Designs (official website, at Sideshow Collectibles*) has a new Hobgoblin statue in the works, and the pics shared in this Statue Marvels post makes me think that some dedicated Spider-Man fans are going to want this work of art.

All I can think of when I see this design is what it was like to be a kid in the eighties reading Spider-Man comics and watching as the entire Hobgoblin story unfolded. The whole “who is the Hobgoblin?” event Marvel ran back then was fantastic and I still remember how much fun my friends and I had discussing and debating the situation. The fact that Marvel went back and tweaked/rewrote/changed their history so Ned Leeds wasn’t actually the Hobgoblin — see Wikipedia — has felt kinda dumb to me for years now. Hey, Marvel, not every event is open to a rewrite!

What was I talking about? Oh, yeah, the Hobgoblin statue shown at Statue Marvels. It looks neat!
