DarkFuse Launches New Flash Fiction Website

Okay, there’s something in the air when it comes to flash fiction. Only yesterday I finished a little work on a personal flash fiction project (more on that soonish) and this morning I see that Horror d’oevres is online. This is a new website where you can get horror flash fiction to read on your Kindle, iPad, or smartphones . . . or a computer, but that’s not nearly as cool.

Visit Horror d’oeuvres!

Not familiar with flash fiction? The Wikipedia entry says it’s ” . . . a style of fictional literature or fiction of extreme brevity . . . ” and that’s as simple a description as you can get. Think of flash fiction as extremely short short stories — these stories are often hundreds of words long and can be read quickly. Flash Fiction: 72 Very Short Stories* is considered one of the first usages of the term (fun book and an excellent example of the format) and with smartphones becoming more popular flash fiction is more widespread.

The new Horror d’oevres site is a pay site, but right now it’s free to all DarkFuse Book Club subscribers.

I’m excited to announce that we’ve launched a new micro-fiction site called Horror d’oeuvres. This new site is devoted to original horror flash fiction as well as weird and experimental short-shorts that fall under the dark fiction umbrella.

Horror d’oeuvres is a paid membership site. Right now, you can get a lifetime pass for $29.99. Or, if you’re a DarkFuse book club member, access to the Horror d’oeuvres site is free with your book club subscription.
