And Just to Prove the Eighties G.I. Joe Toys Were Awesome . . .
So the Cobra Pogo Ballistic Battle Ball was so damned awesome that not only was it featured in a comic commercial (posted here) but the toy even showed up in a commercial of its own . . . with some fantastic sketchy animation mixed with live action footage of the toy in play. How is it the eighties were so incredible that an admittedly strange toy design like this found itself in two commercials on television?
Man, kids these days are really being abused by the toy and comic companies. Modern commercials just don’t have the sheer level of fun behind them — or the variety! — that we had when I was a kid. (“Back in my day . . . “)
