Adventure Kartel Ankou Photos
NOTE: Technically, this is an Adventure Kartel action figure. But for reasons I cannot explain my brain lumps all of the 3A releases under the World War Robot line. Weird.
The weather is so beautiful here today that I grabbed my World War Robot series* 12-inch scale Ankou action figure and took him outside for some photos. Nothing especially fancy, but here are a few shots of Ankou in the wild.
We had terrible rain in the Austin area a few days ago — Steve Jackon, owner of Steve Jackson Games, wrote about his terrible flooding experience — and there’s a road near my house that has been completely consumed by a lake. Unfortunately, there was no way to get any cool photos with the flooded road. I tried, but nothing really worked out well.
Anyway, enjoy the shots!
Two small issues cropped up as I was posing and photographing the toy. Nothing disastrous or awful, but that eye is really loose in the robot’s skull and it spins around whenever and wherever it likes. And one foot fell off while I was positioning the leg. It snapped right back into place, but nothing is more frustrating than parts falling off of a toy during the simple act of posing the figure.
But neither issue caused any harm and the toy, while not as nice as the World War Robot Dropcloth (review here), is a lot more fun than I remembered it. Maybe my frustrations with the 6-inch scale World War Robot series* toys were unfairly carried over to the 12-inch line. I’ll have to take a closer look at everything WWR/3A in my collection and see what I can figure out.
