Snow Space + Snow Rescue, Combining Outfit Sets on the Junglevet
Yesterday I reviewed the Dollsfigure Snow Rescue Outfit Set (review here), trying out the 12-inch scale outfit and accessories on an Adventure Kartel Junglevet toy (review here). I wasn’t all that happy with the results — the outfit set feels overpriced for what it is — but the more I looked at the figure the more I couldn’t help but feel that maybe there was the beginnings of something cool there.
When the Snow Rescue Outfit Set arrived last month it wasn’t alone. The Magic Cube Snow Space Outfit Set (first mentioned here) was also sitting at home waiting to be used, and I figured that if I used the coat and beanie hat with the Junglevet/Snow Rescue combo then things might start to look considerably better. I was right.
Now this isn’t the first time that we’ve seen an Adventure Kartel action figure (Amazon.com search*) wearing the Magic Cube Snow Space Outfit Set. Last month we saw a Tomorrow King in the outfit . . . and I must admit that the pure white action figure looks far cooler in this jacket than Junglevet does. But the Snow Space and Snow Rescue combo is clearly better than the Snow Rescue Outfit Set is on its own.
I’m not finished trying this Snow Space Outfit Set out, but I figured I would share these photos to give all of you an idea of how layering two different action figure outfit sets over a single toy can add some depth and really make things start to look far cooler than on their own. It is this reason that has me continuing to wish that someone would create outfit sets for 6-inch scale action figures . . . but things are not looking good on that front at all.
