Imperial Troop Transport in Star Wars: Rebels?
I accidentally stumbled across this Jedi Temple Archives post where the rumor is floated that Disney’s new Star Wars: Rebels animated series will include the old Kenner Imperial Troop Transport toy . . . and I fully endorse this rumor and urge Disney to make it happen!
The 1979 Kenner Imperial Troop Transport (see 12back.com) was one of the very first Star Wars toys designed by Kenner based on . . . well, basically nothing. Pre-dating the Kenner Mini-Rigs by a few years (see “The Genius of Kenner’s “Star Wars Collection†Mini-Rigs”) it feels almost wrong that there isn’t one of the transports around the house.
Well, if the Star Wars: Rebels rumor is true then maybe Hasbro will find a way to either retool the old toy or modernize and update the design. That old mold has to be lost or dead by now anyway, right?
