Spotted Online – Mino-Tor Conversion Kit Review at The Fwoosh
When I wrote “Masters of the Universe: Will Third Party Manufacturers Fill the Void?” back in 2012 I had no idea how quickly the idea of unofficial customs and kits for use with Mattel’s Masters of the Universe Classics series (Amazon.com search*) would explode. It feels as if this year we’ve seen a big spike in kits and coverage of those kits. Not full-blown manufactured kits and figures like the Transformers fans have seen, but there are enough garage kits/upgrades out there that I wouldn’t be surprised if 2014 saw the release of at least one factory-produced kit.
Today at The Fwoosh we get a look at VeeBee’s Mino-Tor review. This unofficial kit — produced by Zombihamma (Facebook page) — costs $70 and allows you to convert an existing Masters of the Universe Classics action figure into Mino-Tor. VeeBee suggests that the Vikor body is best for the kit, but I can see where even a basic He-Man would work just fine.
Check the review for more pics of this unofficial kit. I am sure we’ll see more in 2014, but as to whether or not mass-produced kits will happen all we can do is wait. I truly think that it’s coming . . . but when?
