“New droids don’t have to cost an arm and a leg.”
Earlier this week we looked at one of the 2010 Hasbro ads for their Star Wars Droid Factory series of the time (posted here). Well, I figured that since it was handy I’d share this 2009 Droid Factory ad for the R5-A2 action figure. I think the entire Droid Factory line is one of the greatest things Hasbro has done with Star Wars action figures over the past five or six years, and I’m hoping they try this again one day. I know the droid parts are small, but that small size has to have helped make the Droid Factory promotion profitable.
I suppose they could start a series of blind bag Droid Factory action figures. Drop $3 and get one or two droid parts (depending on size) and some assorted Star Wars action figure weapons and accessories. Buy enough of the blind bags and build your own droids. Yeah, I’d go for something like that.

Blind bag droid factory is a great idea! I can’t believe they haven’t done something like that already.
@The Rook – In my dream world someone at Hasbro already had the idea and will reveal it at NYTF next month. I’ll go back to dreaming now . . .
