Mars Attacks — The Dice Game
I’m at New York Toy Fair this week in my role as Steve Jackson Games’ Chief Operating Officer. My work at the show includes sales meetings, licensing discussions, randomly drooling on awesome new toys, and talking with the press about our upcoming new games. Games like Mars Attacks — The Dice Game, a new design I worked up with the (monumental) help of Sam and Randy at the office.
W. Eric Martin of BoardGameGeek sat down yesterday with me — along with Adam Levine from Topps and Kali Dugan from Steve Jackson Games — to take a quick run through the game. We destroyed cities, rolled dice, and I even tried to get my picture taken at the Washington Monument. The game’s very silly, plays insanely quick, and Sam and Randy did a great job taking my outline and ideas and developing a fun game.
You can read more about the game at BoardGameGeek, and watch the Steve Jackson Games website for an official announcement.
It’s nice to have gotten a chance for some creative work at the office, but now it’s back to the business of people management, business management, and manufacturing and selling games!

LOVE Mars Attacks! This looks really cool. I’ll be watching for it!
@Jay – Thanks, Jay! Sam and Randy did a great job of implementing and developing the game outline/notes I provided. I’m hoping this does well for us once we launch it later in the year.
