IDW Announces “The X-Files” Board Game
When I wrote about the formation of IDW Games last month I said:
“I know it’s unrealistic for my brain to immediately leap to hoping for licensed games, but it’s where I went . . . and where I’ll stay until IDW tells us otherwise.”
Well, looks like licensed games are definitely on the IDW schedule, as their announcement of The X-Files Board Game proves. A game of this size and complexity — sounds like a pretty cool “all against one” game where the players compete against “The Smoking Man” — coming in July tells me that IDW has been working on this for a while now and that it’s not just a sudden development.
It has been over fifteen years since the X-Files CCG* was released, making this the first X-Files game in so long that I’m not quite sure how well it will perform on the market. Fingers crossed that the game’s as much fun as it deserves to be.
