Lost Inside Marc Ecko’s “Unlabel”
Yesterday’s reading on the flight to Boston, Unlabel*, subtitled “Selling You Without Selling Out,” reads more like a Marc Ecko autobiography than it does a textbook on branding . . . and that’s okay with me! Hidden within the sentences and on the pages are little bits of information that, when you stop and start thinking about them, have you questioning yourself and saying:
What is my personal “brand” and how do I embrace that brand daily?
Last night the book turned into even more reading as I kept telling myself “just another page” and then soon found myself up hours longer than I planned.
I know not everyone out there is interested in branding and marketing, but if you’ve any interest at all in a good story of someone building a fashion empire then you should give this a shot.
I love posts like this….I’m glad you post non-toy stuff sometimes…I’m have to pick it up. Thanks Phillip.
@Bill Murphy – Thanks, Bill. I was hoping someone else would find this book interesting.
It’s a fun read. I had no idea Ecko went through so much to build the company.
