1988 G.I. Joe “Is This The End of Sergeant Slaughter?” Flyer
From 1988 comes this Hasbro insert for G.I. Joe mail order toys and action figures. The offer for an 8-inch Sergeant Slaughter wrestler is kinda neat, but it’s the way in which Hasbro recycled the toys they couldn’t sell that most impresses me. As a kid I never once thought about where the toys Hasbro offered through the mail came from, but now I’m seriously amazed at the genius of taking earlier releases that were cluttering the warehouse and using them as special items.
