“A World of Characters” Exhibit at the San Francisco Airport
It looks like (if I’m lucky) as I layover in San Francisco later this month I’ll get a chance to see the A World of Characters exhibit. Twentieth century food and product mascots in statue and toy form, the exhibit is in the International terminal and is exactly the sort of thing that makes me smile.
According to the exhibit page this collection of advertising mascots features over 300 pieces, all taken from the collection of Warren Dotz. That is one hell of a collection and now I wish there was a book to go along with the exhibit. Hey, San Francisco, get on that! I’ll happily hand over cash for a hardcover volume that shows off all of these pieces in color.
