Spotted Online – New Transformers Generations Jetfire Pics
Check out the pics at tformers.com and marvel at what’s looking to be the best Transformers Jetfire toy ever made. Amazon.com lists pre-orders* at $70, but that feels just a little high to me so I’ll be waiting a bit longer before locking down a pre-order of my own.
The above pic showing the new Jetfire next to the 2010 Reveal the Shield Jazz* really drives home just how perfect this toy’s looking. The design is a great modern take that blends the animated Skyfire with the 1985 Jetfire toy, and then the towering size puts the new Jetfire nicely in scale with the various Deluxe Autobots from the last seven or eight years.

Yeah, BBTS has him available for preorder at $46.99, which is MSRP. I think this toy is beautiful but flawed. I’m really not psyched about the hollowed out forearms, and I’m looking forward to seeing what the third party companies are going to do to improve this. I’m hoping for some red forearm and calf armor a la G1 Jetfire, and some smoother, more Macrossy fastpacks. Also, why is it so hard for Hasbro to get the transformations correct for their own official photos? It’s only now that we’re seeing the backpack sit in it’s correct, lower position, and their photos taken by an independent reviewer. Weird.
Looking forward to this figure — however $70 seems a bit much for a non-MP figure. I would be much more comfortable around $45-$50.
If I can find this for retail then I’m all over it.
