I’m Absolutely Loving Colin MacNeil’s Judge Dredd Art
The guys at 2000 AD were kind enough to send over the two latest issues of 2000 AD (Amazon.com search*) in PDF and Colin MacNeil is killing it, both with his cover to Prog 1892 and his interior work on the new Judge Dredd story, “A Night in Sylvia Plath.” Incredible artwork from one of the Dredd artists I’m really starting to love more and more each time I encounter his work.
Compare this latest art to MacNeil’s work shown in my Insurrection reading post and you’ll see why I’m growing more and more excited by MacNeil’s art. That work in Insurrection* is awesome, but it’s the heavy black and bold lines of his newer work that most appeals to my own art preferences. I am a fan of Mignola, after all, and that love of Mignola’s style extends into any and all artists who touch upon Mignola’s art approach and style.

Colin has been a great artist for years. I first saw his art on the later covers to the original run of Marvel’s Conan the Barbarian. Great talent.
@Nick Ahlhelm – I’m not familiar with the Conan covers. Are they more like his work on Insurrection or the newer stuff? Insurrection looks fantastic, but the newer heavy black linework is a style I just can’t stop loving.
