Legends of Cthulhu Packaging Update
There’s a new Legends of Cthulhu update at Kickstarter and seeing the packaged toys makes me quite happy that I backed the project. These Kenner-style 3.75-inch scale action figures are going to look incredible along with all of the other new retro figures that we’re getting these days (see “Kenner-Style Action Figures (Twilight Zone and ReAction) at Hastings!” if you’ve been missing out on the trend).
The only (minor) complaint I have with the packaging is that they’ve made the cards for Kickstarter backers special, meaning that the MOC collectors have something to make them happy while those of us who plan to open these . . . well, I am not quite sure what the hell to do here. Open the toys and just don’t care, or find someone who wants the “Official Warpo Fan Club” versions and then replace the toys with the basic version?

Would have loved to have backed this, but the shipping costs to AU made it a little on the impractical side.
Here’s what I’ve been doing on all my ReAction and Twilight Zone packaging: I’ve been using a knife to slit the blisters open on the side so I can remove the figure and replace them as desired. This way I can display them carded and still remove them to pose, photograph, and review. I’ll probably be doing that with these guys too.
Still miffed I missed out on these. I’d sent an email to Warpo with a few questions and never heard back before the Kickstarter ended. Not sure if I’ll pony up to get the (much more expensive) after Kickstarter versions.
