Spotted Online – Arco’s “The Other World”

I’ve still not managed to get any of the Arco Space War action figures (mentioned here), but rather than dwell on that I thought it could be fun to share a link this Little Weirdos post about the Other World toys.

Produced in 1982 (through 1984), The Other World was a series of bendable action figures and, because it was the eighties, there was even a playset. Awesome designs and clearly inspired by the then-popular Masters of the Universe and Dungeons & Dragons. For more (including pics of the Castle Zendo playset) see Action-Figures.ca.

    1. @microbry – More pics!!! You need to grab a light tent and start snapping your pics on a white background. Please. Please! PLEASE!!!

(White backgrounds just help the toys pop so very much.)

  1. Flashback! I believe I had a Froggacuda too. (Though I most likely inherited it from my older brother.) I never had a clue on what it was until now.

  2. I had Gaifand, the two-headed dragon, and thought he was great. He was sturdy and managed to stick around in the family toy chest for like two decades and be enjoyed by kids who visited. But I also had the Jipps and the Mogs and those things creeped me the heck out. I would hide them and avoid them at all costs. I also remember having Zendo, the red guy, but wondered why he was wearing a dress. lol

  3. I had a bunch of these. I remember my mom bringing them home for me and telling me that they were called The Glowgons. So all this time, I thought that’s what they were called. As I comment on all of these recent old toy articles, I’m beginning to think that my parents may have been… cool.
