BadCube Announces Unofficial Insecticons
Third party Transformers toymaker BadCube has announced three new toys; their take on the 1985 classic Transformers Insecticons trio (Amazon.com search*). Because of the images I can simply state: Wow.
Fan response in the thread at TFW2005 ranges from “yes!” to “looks too G1” and I am firmly on the side of: Want these now, please. I don’t understand why anyone would complain that these blocky and awesome designs are “too G1,” but that’s part of what’s fun for Transformers these days: Don’t like a design? Wait and you’re likely to see one from someone else.
In addition to pics of the prototypes BadCube also posted these three “character cards” to give Insecticon fans a little more to get excited about. I’ve seen no release date yet, but if things go as they usually do in the third party Transformers scene then these should be released anywhere between now . . . and never. Yeah, the entire subindustry of unofficial Transformers toys doesn’t have the most accurate of release schedules.

These are really nice! And G1 as all get out! What would really, really temp me to buy them is if Badcube included translucent chest panels and silver chrome. It’d be hard to say no to them…
