Affiliate Link – The Star Wars Action Figure Archive
Stephen Sansweet’s Star Wars: The Ultimate Action Figure Collection* is the newer book, but the 1999 Star Wars Action Figure Archive* may actually be more fun to flip through.
Being over a decade older, the book’s from a very different time and focuses on the classic Kenner toys and those Power of the Force 2 toys from Hasbro/Kenner that were released starting in 1995. Completely different pics from the newer book, and this older book even covers playsets and vehicles. Both books are definitely good to own, but if you’re choosing between just one of these two titles I think this one’s the better choice.
Imagine the Star Wars universe—Princess Leia, Han Solo, Yoda, and all the other characters—reproduced on a miniature scale. These are the immensely popular and eminently collectible action figures that Kenner Toys has produced for the past 20 years. Until now, there has never been a comprehensive book for the legions who collect these fantastic figures.

I have both this book and the newer Sansweet book. They’re both really good but the older book definitely spends more time and detail on the earliest POTF figures and the vintage line. I haven’t personally checked out Bellomo’s newest book yet but I’d still recommend Sansweet’s for coverage of the vintage line.
