1997 Warrior Nun Areala Exclusive Action Figure Offer
The back cover of the December, 1997 issue of Lee’s Action Figure News & Toy Review (Amazon.com search*) featured this full-page ad that has me asking: Whatever happened to this toy deal? They were running lots of ads in magazines back in the nineties, but where are they today?
Anyway, this as for an exclusive Warrior Nun Areala series (Amazon.com search*) action figure is very much a product of its time. Is it just me, or was the action figure collecting scene much larger back then than it is today?

It sure seemed much larger with a bunch of small indie comic publishers in the field. I actually just ordered this figure on ebay a couple days ago as part of my goal to collect a lot of these obscure comic toys I never got a decade and a half ago.
It seems larger, but it might just be a lot more smaller companies doing limited things. Macfarlane had just started his, which was a big deal, so I see this as the market expanding to see what it could support.
I’m guessing Warrior Nuns didn’t make the cut.
