Shadows of the Empire Planning
One of the fun parts about working on my newest pair of books (Kickstarter project) is the chance to go back about twenty years and look at the crazy things Kenner was putting together. For example, it was while assembling my research that I discovered the Star Wars Wikia has an entire section devoted to the Wookiee Snoova character. That’s wild!
AND that entry directed me to Star Wars Insider #120 which includes an article about Kenner’s work with Star Wars toys. Magazine ordered!!!
Chewie as Snoova is still one of my favorite figures. I love his axe and his awesome battle armor. Such a cool, cool figure!
@Barbecue17 – The design has grown on me over the last nineteen years. At first I wasn’t much of a fan, but these days I can appreciate Snoova for the wild nineties character that he is.
Shadows of the Empire was such a neat cross media property and that was the first time I really noticed the whole cross media concept. I had the novel, comic books, figures, and the N64 game. That seemed really unique at the time. I had friends telling me they wanted to know what the main cast were up to while playing the game and I could point out other media.
@mazintotoro – It’s my hope that the finished book helps us all to better appreciate and enjoy those Kenner Shadows of the Empire toys. If flipping through the book makes someone smile then I’ve done my job.
