Divided across two issues of the Lakeland Ledger (Lakeland, Florida) — November 28, 1984 and November 29, 1984 — family psychologist John Rosemond offers his evaluations of ten of the most popular toys of that year. This is a wonderful article and one I definitely want to return to whenever I need reminded that not all adults hated toys in the eighties.

Of the GoBots and Transformers Rosemond writes:

“One thing I liked about these little robots was they’re small. The fit little hands and can be carried around with ease. Kids can twist and turn them to make a variety of different things. Consequently, they’re great for developing small muscle coordination.”

You’ll definitely want to click through to read both parts of the article. Other toylines evaluated include G.I. Joe and Mattel’s Marvel Super Heroes. How can you resist clicking on each article image to read the entire story?
