1983 Star Trek RPG Ad in Starlog #69

Starlog #69 (April, 1983) includes this half-page ad for FASA’s Star Trek roleplaying game (Amazon.com search*), and seeing this ad reminds me that I never once played the game. Back during high school I had a few friends who played this and loved it, but not once did I join in. Why? Unsure. Just no interest at the time, I guess.

Looking at the ad I have to think that FASA knew exactly what they were doing. The stark, minimalist design really grabs your attention and stands out. Below is a shot showing the two-page spread; that ad really does leap out from the pages. That’s an effective ad since it is drawing my eye.
