Willy Wonka’s Magic Jumping Disc
Back when I was a kid, comic books were a great way to reach kids. Toys, model kits, money-making schemes, gum, and candymakers all ran ads in comic books in an attempt to separate more change and dollars from us kids . . . and we loved it!
As just one more example of these awesome advertisements, I present to you this Willy Wonka ad from the July, 1982 issue of DC’s The Warlord comic book. All you needed to get the Magic Jumping Disc was the coupon, two Wonka candy wrappers, and fifty cents. Hey, they got money for both the candy and with the quarters they were mailed. This is pretty smart!
