Buck Rogers: Countdown to Doomsday

I’m more familiar with TSR’s version of Buck Rogers than I am any other take on the character. Because of their XXvc roleplaying game and novels (Amazon.com search*) I’ve interacted with the TSR version of the Buck Rogers world more than any other storyline, and it’s for that reason I find their late eighties/early nineties take on the entire setting my favorite.

And those who played many computer roleplaying games back in the early nineties may be most familiar with the XXVc setting due to the SSI game, Countdown to Doomsday, that was released at the time. I never played that — I should have — but I definitely remember the advertising for the game. Advertising? Absolutely, including ads like this one from issue three of TSR’s Buck Rogers comic series. A free novel? I’m in!
