Visit Toy Vault in Rhode Island

I don’t expect much when I visit a toy store in a mall. Mall stores tend to be overpriced, carry a selection that’s less than exciting, and staffed by people who don’t know or care about what they’re selling.

Surprise! None of that is true of Toy Vault (website). This store was a shock and a treat, and as we looked through the shelves, pegs, and display cases we kept uncovering awesome fun stuffs! Eighties trading cards, seventies toys, nineties toys, modern games . . . hell, the best I can suggest is that you take a look at the 20+ photos I shot at the store; see the Flickr album for all of the pics.

  1. As local, I don’t do business with them very often. The have a great selection, but they tend to be ‘corporate’. I have had not bad experiences, but less than satisfying transactions. The owners, and I forget his name, always seemed to me to be one of those dealers that would take advantage of you if he could.
