Aurora Prehistoric Scenes Model Kits at SDCC
The book Aurora Model Kits* is entertaining (reading post here), but after encountering classic Aurora prehistoric scenes model kits at SDCC I want a new Aurora book. We need a book that shows all of this amazing artwork at full-page size!!!
I’ll never be one to buy and assemble these old kits, but the artwork’s so spectacular that I would happily drop $50 or so on a beautiful hardcover book that gives this art the respect it deserves. These kits were from a time when artwork and not photos were used for promotion, and every time that I see old packages like this I wish we could see someone take this approach with packaging today. Hasbro’s Transformers line is doing well these days, but we need even more artwork on toys, games, and models that appear on store shelves!
