1980 Star Wars Sweepstakes and Kenner’s Bossk Mail-Away Offer
Out of this March 2, 1980, Milwaukee Journal newspaper comes a half-page advertisement for a chance to see The Empire Strikes Back at a special premiere event. Five kids were offered the chance to win the trip, but it’s the 50 second place winners who I believe were the real winners: They were each given a complete set of the 1980 Kenner Empire Strikes Back toys! That’s incredible! Did any of you enter this sweepstakes?
And the second great part of this newspaper ad has to be the offer for Bossk. Send in four proofs of purchase and Bossk could have been all yours, kids. The fine print is way too messed up to read, but I’m pretty confident that we all missed out on this offer so no need to mail away today.
