1974 Sears Ad for G.I. Joe and Big Jim
The October 17, 1974, newspaper ad is for the fans of Hasbro’s G.I. Joe Adventure Team and Mattel’s Big Jim toys. I’m a little surprised that I haven’t uncovered more Big Jim ads in the Google newspaper archives; is it possible Mattel’s line never had the same reach as Hasbro’s G.I. Joe in the seventies? If so then it’s no surprise that the Adventure Team gets so much more attention these days than Big Jim.
