1976 Newspaper Ad for Gabriel’s Lone Ranger Action Figures
Between G.I. Joe and Other Backyard Heroes* and the mention of the toys in Selling the Silver Bullet* (which I last discussed here) it’s getting tough to continue to resist Gabriel’s Lone Ranger action figures. On top of that, Gina spotted an amazing Lone Ranger item over the weekend that . . . well, I’m still thinking on that. More info laters.
And I, of course, made things worse this morning by running another newspaper search for the Lone Ranger action figures. It’s amazing that those Google newspaper archives are so deep that one little change in a search string can uncover something different. For example, this 1976 newspaper ad is something I’d not seen before. Very odd choice to add the vertical lines behind all of the toy images.
