Spotted Online – Custom Nebulon-B Frigate for Star Wars: X-Wing Miniatures Game

Earlier this week I posted news that the company selling unofficial Nebulon-B Frigate models for use with Fantasy Flight Games’ X-Wing miniatures game (Amazon.com search*) has removed all of the ships from their site. Not surprising when we stop and think about it; Disney had to put an end to the sales in order to protect their IP.

Surprisingly, while searching BGG I ran across another Nebulon-B Frigate model, this time from someone who posted files to Shapeways so that people can order the model and assemble it themselves. Looks pretty cool, but I do wish that the posted photos were of a higher quality.

Will Fantasy Flight Games release an official Nebulon-B Frigate for the Nebulon-B Frigate models for use with Fantasy Flight Games’ X-Wing miniatures game (Amazon.com search*) or is the ship too big to get a release? I’m kinda torn here, because if they don’t release the ship then I won’t be tempted to buy one — where would I store it? — but it would make for an incredible huge miniature if they did create and sell one.
