Spotted Online – Micronauts Trade Catalog at Plaid Stallions
My love of consumer toy catalogs is well documented (see Each Sold Separately* and Action Figures Not Included*), but it’s the industry catalogs — those books the toymakers used to sell product lines to retailers — that I find most fascinating. The designs, the wording, the overall approach to selling toys to someone who then sells the toys could be a research project all its own . . . if there were time.
Part of any such project would have to include this Micronauts catalog from 1977. Plaid Stallions always posts the most incredible finds, and this early Micronauts catalog stands out as a treat we must explore and enjoy. It’s just a single sheet of paper, but if Mego wants us to call it a catalog then catalog it is.
