G.I. Joe Command Center and Battle Tank Advertised in 1984
We’ve zoomed in on parts of this 1984 Fred Meyer newspaper ad before, first for a look at the Star Wars Rancor and then again for a selection of Masters of the Universe toys.
In order to make the cool parts of the ad easier for everyone to enjoy I’ve now zoomed in on two Hasbro G.I. Joe toys. The current G.I. Joe selection (find at Amazon.com*) isn’t anywhere near as strong as what we saw in the eighties, and looking over this ad now has me wondering how many toys are advertised in newspapers today. I would have to read newspapers to answer that question, I guess, so until someone updates me on the state of toy ads and newspapers the question will go unanswered; newspapers just aren’t worth the bother these days.
