“Gears Within Gears Draw Fantastic Ornaments”
The Spirograph (find at Amazon.com*) was one of those toys I wanted as a kid that, today, I am certain I would have never truly appreciated as a child. Looking at the toy these days I can see that it demands a level of patience I lacked as a child, but that doesn’t make it look any less marvelous than it did when I was seven.
Here we have a 1967 Popular Science article all about the Spirograph, showing how toys with even a hint of an educational nature could find their way into mainstream magazines way back in the dark times known as pre-disco. Enjoy this glance at the past!
