G.I. Joe Cobra Wolf Newspaper Advertisement
Last released in the 50th Anniversary Battle Below Zero (find at Amazon.com*), the 1987 Cobra Wolf from Hasbro’s G.I. Joe series has always been one of my favorite vehicles in the line. As I’ve said before, I’m a sucker for arctic action figures and vehicles and the Cobra Wolf — especially those skis and the missile rack — is one fantastic design that really highlights the designwork of the G.I. Joe team in the eighties.
This newspaper ad from 1987 is loaded with cool toys, but it’s that Cobra Wolf block that stands out to me. And hey, you can almost make out the shape of the Cobra Sea Ray in the ad. Too bad the archiving of this page left a giant black smear right where that other G.I. Joe vehicle is sitting.
