1985 Transformers Power Cycle and Electric Train Set Ad

If you’ve followed my advice then you’ve already got a copy of the Transformers Vault* book and have enjoyed pics of Transformers roller skates, a tent, and even puzzles that transform. Well, there were many more Transformers items offered for sale in the eighties, and part of the newspaper ad that we saw yesterday included two Transformers oddities that could be unusual collectibles to chase down.

The Transformers Power Cycle was a riding toy with a twist; the toy “transformed” revealing arms and a face and I cannot remember ever seeing one of these up close. Not even as a kid! Definitely a strange idea for a toy.

The Transformers Electric Train and Battle Set is far cooler than the cycle, and as the TFWiki entry shows us, the various train cars even transformed. This isn’t something I’m likely to ever want, but I can appreciate the fact it exists and the amount of work Tyco put into the toy.
