Hasbro (Finally) Bringing Scrounge to Collections!
Way back in the early days of the Marvel comic we were introduced to Scrounge, an Autobot that transformed into a wheel and had a special hand wired with all sorts of electronic surveillance devices. Scrounge was introduced and died in the same comic book (see TFWiki.net), and ever since that issue was new I’ve wanted a Scrounge toy. I suspect the third party makers would do a better job with Scrounge (see this post from 2015), but at least Hasbro is now making an attempt at creating the character as a toy.
This post at Seibertron shares Hasbro’s BotCon announcements, and seeing Hasbro retool the Generations Cosmos toy* as Scrounge leaves me with mixed feelings. I’m happy to see we’re finally getting a Scrounge, but I’m sad that the design isn’t the original Scrounge alt mode. Well, at least they tooled up a new head to give Scrounge the big eyes.
Very cool. It’s just a shame Cosmos wasn’t more widely available, I was super-keen to own one.
@Wolf – I found a Cosmos here when they were new and grabbed him. Great little guy! Still worth chasing down if you can get lucky and find one.
