And, better still, I now own a copy. I’m not going to watch this until the weekend (in the evenings this week, Gina and I have been watching Exo Squad Season 1), but for $13 I went ahead and grabbed a copy of G.I. Joe: Resolute the minute I saw it.

I watched this when it aired on Cartoon Network earlier this year and, at the time, I was worried it would be bundled with the (terrible) movie. Well, thankfully the animated film was released on its own. This being out on DVD makes me want to find some of the other Resolute action figures (I’ve got the “Resolute” Cobra Trooper (review here) and “Resolute” Cobra Commander (review here), but that’s it). Time to dig around; maybe I can find that box set.

Am I the only person excited that they released this on DVD? That can’t be true. But, knowing me, it’s likely that I’m the only one geeky enough to be writing about the series while taking a lunch break at the office. I’m such a nerd. Well, Yo, Joe, guys. I’ve got Resolute on DVD so that makes me happy. (I guess I’m easy to please.)

  1. Sweet…I’m glad this game out on DVD. I watched it when it aired too and loved it. http://bit.ly/37ouzW

However, I’m a cheapskate and think a $15 is pretty high for what’s really an hour long episode, especially if there aren’t any extras on that DVD. I would hope there would be some behind-the-scenes stuff on the disc, commentary, something.

Honestly, having the original GI Joe movie on that DVD would have been awesome. I know it was bad, but I watched the GI Joe movie all the time. I taped it off of TV when I was little and I wore that VHS out. As awful as it is, I love it.

I always keep an eye out for classic GI Joe videos at the half price bookstore. So far I haven’t found any, so either no one is buying them, or no one gives them up.

  2. @Redline – I _wish_ this had the 80s animated movie with it. What I meant by movie was the new live-action film that should have never been made.

I paid $13 for this at Wal-Mart, which didn’t feel too bad. I suspect that between now and Christmas this will be on sale somewhere for $10 or so.
