Monogram Snap Tite Kits Ad from 1980

Toymakers of all sorts used to take advantage of comic book advertising to reach kids. This isn’t all that true today — probably because rates are high and comic circulation is down — but I believe that the toymakers of today are missing out on an opportunity by ignoring comics. I know, most comics readers these days are well above the age of kids who actually play with toys, but at the very least the toymakers who specialize in adult action figures — Sideshow, NECA, Hot Toys — could run some ads in comics.

And model kit makers? I doubt we’re gonna ever see a time again when ads like this Mongram ad for snap kit models will ever reach the big comic book company pages. Sad face icon goes here, right?
