1984 Mattel Secret Wars Action Figures in the “Marvel Super Mart” Advertisement
There’s a much better ad for Mattel’s Secret Wars series out there (posted here), but this ad from the first Starriors comic book deserves special attention because the Secret Wars portion of the ad is so small and easy to miss. And if you read closely you can find that Kenner’s Super Powers action figures are included in the ad. But seriously, it’s all reading between the lines and understanding the toy market of 1984 to even figure out that there’s a Kenner Super Powers advertisement hiding on this page.
