Exclusive Battle Damage Jetfire Statue on Sale at Action Figure XPress
Limited to a run of 600 pieces, this Jetfire statue has been knocked down from $70 to $42. I guess there’s just not as much demand for some of these statues as Diamond Select Toys expected, because a run of 600 sounds low to me.
“This exclusive Armored Jetfire Bust from Diamond Select Toys features an interchangeable head and hand! Jetfire’s dedication to the Autobot cause is matched only by his devotion to scientific and technological advancement – this, he believes, is the only way in which victory over the Decepticons can be achieved. It is this overriding belief that tempers his bravado in battle, but nevertheless, he is often one of the most eager Autobots to plunge into combat, and his position as one of the fastest usually means he is the first to do so.”
This looks pretty good in the photos, but not so good that I’d order one for myself (well, maybe at $25 or $20). I do own one Transformers statue from this series, the Soundblaster and Ratbat bust that I picked up at the New York Toy Fair back in February. You know, I should dig that guy out and review him. I had him on display at work but packed him up back in May when I moved offices; poor Soundblaster and Ratbat, they’ve been packed in a box for six months now.
NOTE: If you’re a huge fan of Skyfire, the animated version of the Jetfire toy, then you’ll want to take a look at Matt Doughty’s Custom Transformers Skyfire.
I really don’t get busts. I don’t want a representation of half the character, I’d like a full one please.
I’ll just settle for the real Jetfire figure I have in my office. He has real “battle damage” too because he’s missing an arm.
@Paul – Busts don’t do much for me, either, but the Soundblaster bust I picked up was priced so low that it had to come home with me.
For years I wasn’t a statue fan — and I’m still not a major buyer of statues — but I’m slowly coming to understand the appeal.
