Buck Rogers XXVc Cover: The Belt

More from Jerry Bingham and TSR’s Buck Rogers XXVc* roleplaying game, this cover art shows a Genie, a genetically-modified person of the XXVc game world, on an asteroid in space.

If you’ve never seen these covers before then you really should search out the product line. The game is marked as a failure, but the work and love that went into it left the world with a work of art that stands out as a great example of how to revitalize and modernize an aging property.

  1. Loving these covers. This one in particular is a great example of how not every product needs the flashy action scene splashed on the cover to evoke a vivid and memorable image.

  2. It’s interesting how cool some of these books look in retrospect — as a teen a few of the tie-in novels showed up in a local second-hand bookstore, and I sort of dismissed them because I had a very particular image of Buck Rogers. But as I get older and see more, a lot of it looks fantastic.

  3. Having read a single tie in for this game series, I’ve always been a bit curious what was inside the game. The covers are pretty but the universe seemed a bit of a mess.
