Atari Video Game Cartridges on Sale in 1982

This 1982 newspaper ad comes from before the great video game crash (see Wikipedia), and in looking at this ad featuring E.T., Pac-Man, and Raiders of the Lost Ark video games it isn’t tough to see why there was a crash: $29.99 for E.T. in 1982 is the equivalent of $75.62 in today’s dollars! And trust me, E.T. did not have the graphics to support spending that much money.
